What is it?  That — something inexplicable — truly elegant people possess? (The French refer to it as “je ne sais quoi.”) Understated elegance is difficult to decipher, but the definition is simply that; understated.  Fine quality whispers, but never shouts. This is one area where simplicity trumps flash.  Nuance is the code word.

Attention to detail is paramount in accomplishing the desired effect.  There is nothing that steals attention away from your entire stylish presentation.  Personal polish encompasses nails, hair, skin, flawless makeup, hairstyle, a gleaming smile, polished shoes, pressed clothing, appropriate accessories, voice,quality attire, good taste, and manners.

Does this sound difficult to achieve? It certainly is.   And that is why we admire people who manage to possess … understated elegance.
