Have you noticed there’s a whole lot more merrymaking going on this holiday season? It’s evident in the elaborate decorations and plethora of holiday parties.
Homes give us a glimpse into the personalities of the owners. And it is here where brilliant ideas can be shared.
Start with the DOOR
Whimsical Snowmen Are Stars!
And remember, snowmen can stick around long into the cold days of winter, when we all definitely need a little whimsy.
Jewel Tones Steal the Show
Think outside the box when decorating. Red and green aren’t the only colors of the season.
Over-the-Door Swags
What do you do with all those extra ornaments? There’s no way your tree can hold all of them. Friend Debbie creates amazing swags over her doors and windows, each encrusted with a themed ornament collection.
More Brilliant Ideas…
Why do we love to peek inside other peoples’ homes? Because every home gives us a glimpse into the lives and styles of the individuals who reside there. In the same way clothing reveals the personality of the wearer.
So let’s get on with the rejoicing, decorating, and partying. After the year of isolation and disappointment we’ve had, we relish the idea of reconnecting.
Wishing all my lovely readers the best holiday EVER!
And many thanks to my sweet friends who allowed me to photograph their amazing holiday homes!

Janet,
Thank you for writing. I’m sure I could pick up a few decorating tips from you!
I enjoyed the “tour” of homes and the creative ways your friends decorate for Christmas. This is one of my favorite times of the year as well.
Sherry,
It seems like the best part of the season is simply being able to actulaly BE with friends again!
Thanks for writing.
Thank you for sharing so many beautiful ideas! I have never decorated before Thanksgiving but I’m very glad I did this year! We are enjoying our home to the hilt❤️🎄🎁🎅🏼 Merry Christmas, Sharon!!!
Laura,
It is truly a monumental year to celebrate (and decorate)! I believe the most beautiful homes aren’t the biggest ones with the fanciest decorations, but the ones that–when you walk in–whisper humbly, “we share our spirit of love and joy to all who enter in.”
Merry Christmas.
