I live in the South, where the appeal of the ubiquitous pearl necklace has never quite gone away. But, these days, I’ve noticed an elegant, updated trend–piles of pearls. Not quite as demure as the single strand our mothers wore.
On a recent shopping trip, pearls showed up everywhere. Chic and clustered–in dramatically different sizes and shapes.
Southern Living Brings “Power to the Pearl”
Style Blogger, Kelly Larkin has been spotted wearing pearls and plaid.
Pearls With Denim
Pearls aren’t just for dressy occasions. Take a look at these great autumnal looks:
They aren’t dressy, but they will definitely “dress up” whatever you’re
wearing.
Pearls, Pearls, and More Pearls!
I found these lustrous, baroque (irregularly shaped) pearls for sale at the flea market fields in Round Top, Texas.
And these faux pearls with gold accents are available at Chico’s.
Holidays are coming. Pull out the pearls.
Even if you don’t wear them, you can decorate with them!
Make a statement with pearls. I’m sure all of you have some lurking in the back of your jewelry box.
Your mothers would be so proud!

I was amused to see the baseball guy wearing a string of pearls! I did not expect to see that! 😄
I love pearls and have a lot of them, but I guess I love collecting them more than wearing them!
Hilde,
I think that if you LOVE pearls, you automatically gravitate towards them. After a few purchases, suddenly you’ve got a collection!
Alas. So many pearls…so few occasions to wear them.
P.S. Hilde, do you know that Jock Pedersens’s team, the Atlanta Braves, won the World Series? I bet those fans continue to wear those “good luck” pearls for years to come.
Great article….as always! I love pearls❤️
Beverly,
I refuse to believe that some gals aren’t “pearl girls.” I think there is a size, color, shape, and strand for every style type.
Wow…do I sound like my mom?
Thanks for writing, dear Beverly.
