Ha, ha, ha — I couldn’t stop laughing when my husband told me about the latest fashion trend for men…Romp-HIMS. It’s the male version of a woman’s romper. Apparently the outfit Sean Connery wore as James Bond in the 1964 film, Goldfinger, has returned.
And what woman could complain about watching this scene, filmed over 50 years ago? (But we might also agree–the look is a little reminiscent of a child’s playsuit. )
It appears these rompers for HIM are back en vogue. Here is the updated version:
What do you think? Still manly?
Perhaps RompHims were inspired by the swim trunks of yesteryear. These guys appear pretty confident.
Would the man in your life wear one?
Celebrities seem to be perfectly comfortable in them.
Justin Bieber has been known to wear them. Although I think they call this a ‘onsie.’
He’s also been known to appear ON them.
RompHims come in a variety of patterns.
If you think about it, a RompHim is just a shorter version of a man’s jumpsuit. Who could forget the Bee Gees or Elvis in those one-piece wonders of the 1970’s?
I believe the man who wears a romper is a man who owns his style. I say, “Cheers, to you, sir!”
The only burning question we women have is: HOW FAST CAN YOU GET THAT ROMPER OFF WHEN YOU HAVE TO GO TO THE BATHROOM?
Please tell us if the man in your life would wear a RompHim. Can’t wait to hear your comments (write them below).

The restroom issue may be why they went out of style!! And oh heck no my husband would not wear one.
Someone commented that they reminded her of Jack LaLane. I completely forgot about Jack!
My husband would absolutely refuse to wear them even though, it is easier for a man to go to the bathroom than a woman! That’s one reason that women think twice about wearing a romper . But they might work if there were snaps in the crotch. 🤣
I think there is probably a zipper opening down there. Ha.
My husband would not wear one and even though my son has the body for it, I can’t see him in one either. Even my grandsons have outgrown the one piece romper. I like lower zipper opening idea for convenience. It’s interesting that the models either have hands on hips or in pockets. Wonder what it looks like when the arms are at the sides? I’m thinking of a word, oh yeah, ridiculous! Haha!
I must agree, Molly. I usually love it when anyone ‘owns’ their style and wears something that truly represents ‘who they are.’ But in this case, dressing in a romper designed after an American flag or a paper cup just doesn’t work. …still laughing
My husband would never wear this! I don’t think the fad will last very long!
Well, Pam. It took over 50 years for the fad to return after Sean Connery wore it the first time. I don’t think anyone will be disappointed if we wait another 50 for it to come back again! Thanks for writing.
