A sophisticated fall look begins with two garments you already have in your closet: jeans and jackets.
Almost any jacket paired with any type of jeans can instantly raise your style quotient. And now that fall is here, we can finally pull out those jackets that have been hibernating in the back of our closets all summer.
Moto Jackets aren’t just for the young. These versatile jackets instantly update a pair of jeans. They come in real or faux leather, suede, etc. And there are so many colors–other than black–to choose from. Moto jackets can help every woman look “totally on-trend.”
Tweed jackets look great with jeans. Try them over a denim shirt, t-shirt, or longer tunic.
Even jackets with unexpected textures, can be paired with jeans.
Skinny jeans, boot-cut jeans, flared jeans, boyfriend jeans, or straight legs–If you’ve got jeans and you have a jacket, you can make an outfit. Go to your closet and pull out every jacket you own. Try pairing what you’ve never paired before. Add a scarf. Layer jewelry. Experiment. And always have fun.
Option: Boots or heels can also amp up your jacket/jean look.
Whether you are 18 or 80, instantly elevate the look of your favorite jean by adding a jacket. And, remember, as we say in QUINTESSENTIAL STYLE: “THERE IS POWER IN A JACKET.”

Sharon, I love jackets and have way too many. I will be doing a blog post later this week on them. I love the above photos, women over 50 can rock jeans and a jacket any time. Thanks for the great post!
Thanks, Sherry.
I know–we all have jackets and jeans. Sometimes it just doesn’t occur to us to pair them up. Send me your post and I will publish it on my Facebook page.

I love this look. Can’t wait for the weather to finally cool down enough to pull those jackets out. And love using scarfs for color! Thanks for continuing to support women to love to look their best – especially by shopping their closets first. You ladies are the greatest.
Cindy,
Thank you for your kind words.
