It seems like I find ideas for my blog everywhere I go. But sometimes I forget that there is real inspiration right around the corner. In this case, Waco, Texas, where Janna Beatty inspires and delights clients and friends every day…in her own studio.

This week I took my good friend Lori to have her colors charted. It was her first visit to Janna’s studio. Lori was instantly welcomed into the casual and comfortable, light and airy setting.

One look inside and Lori knew this was no ordinary place.

Janna’s studio is truly a place to relax, learn, and be inspired.

Janna began as a Color 1 Consultant over 30 years ago. But as time went by, her services expanded due to frequent requests from her clients. “After clients had their colors charted, they began asking if I could go shopping with them, then they asked which makeup and color cosmetics they should use, and if it would be possible to help them coordinate outfits for special occasions.” And so it went. Because of these many requests, Janna expanded her services to include personal shopping, closet organization, skincare and cosmetic sales, custom jewelry creations, and much more.

After much research, Janna found the most effective, affordable line of skincare and cosmetics. “The products I sell don’t come with fancy packaging. I want to keep costs low and quality high for my clients.”

Janna will tell you that many of her clients have become close friends. Her business is personal to her.

In her words: “This is my life’s work.”

After knowing Janna for over 10 years (three of those years spent writing a book together),  I am still learning lessons from this wise, wonderful woman–who thrives on joy and gratitude.

And that’s a lesson we can all take away.
