Does it seem that the pandemic is dulling our sense of imagination when it comes to dressing? How can we get the creative juices flowing again when it comes to creating great looking outfits?
The answer is as simple as a click of the computer and a short walk to our own closets.
I have discovered that many of my favorite retail websites have “Style Guides” or “Get the Look” pages to give us non-creatives a little boost when it comes to pulling outfits together. For example:
The TALBOT’S website has a “Life and Style/Lookbook” page that teams separates in chic, interesting ways. Click here to view. Here are some examples.
Create your own “Winter Pastels,” “Alpine Divine,” or “Plaid Tidings,” with items from your own collection. (Boy, I wish I’d thought of those impressive titles.)
Chico’s website has a “Get the Look” outfit inspiration page. Click here to discover stylish ideas. Then find similar items in your closet.
The idea is to find style inspiration from these websites, then search out “like” items you already have–from your own closet.
Halsbrook’s website offers a sophisticated clothing line and shows you how to wear it. Click here to see their “Style Guide.”
But, you don’t have to go out and buy any of these garments. Just go to your closet and see if you have similar items that will work to achieve the same look.
It’s all about shopping in your own closet, where I’m sure you possess a trove of lovely garments and unique accessories. Use them to create your own spectacular “one of a kind style,” using inspiration from experts!
Love these examples Sharon!
