Special Offer to Celebrate our One-year Anniversary!
November 1, 2015

image001-4Janna and I can’t believe that Quintessential Style is a year old! We are humbled and grateful to all our readers for your grand support and positive feedback.  Janna is the style expert and I am the writer, but there could be no success without you–our readers and friends–who have remained a constant source of joy.

Book Launch Party 2014.

We would like to express our thanks to you by offering $10 off the regular price ($29.95) of book(s), when you make a purchase from Nov. 1 – Nov. 9th on Etsy.  This is a holiday gift exclusive, offered only to our blog and newsletter readers.

Since the publication of QStyle, we have sold hundreds of books (at Barnes & Noble, Amazon, Wheatmark, and Etsy) and received some amazing reviews.

At age 65 Janna has now become a frequent speaker on national and international radio talk shows.

I’m 56, and five years ago I didn’t even know what a blog was. When our publisher suggested I write one, I doubted seriously if I’d have anything to say and wasn’t sure who in the world would read it. But here I am a year later.

Which only goes to show that it’s never too late to crack open a new door in your life, and step through the threshold.

We aren’t the only ones who opened a new door later in life. Here are some other great, late bloomers:

Grandma Moses

The renowned American folk artist Anna Mary Robertson Moses (aka Grandma Moses), began her painting career at the age of 78.

Mary Kay Ash

At 45 years old with a $5,000 investment from her oldest son, Mary Kay Ash started Mary Kay Cosmetics.

Vera Wang

At age 40, Vera Wang began a career designing her own brand. Now at the age of 66, she is a world-renowned designer of wedding gowns, red carpet looks, perfume, and jewelry.

Julia Child

Her first cookbook was published when she was 39; she made her television debut starring in “The French Chef” at age 51.

I love this quote by George Eliot (1819-1880): “It is never to late to be what you might have been.” (Or do what you might have done, or travel where you might have gone.) Incidentally, George Eliot is the pen name for novelist Mary Anne Evans, who, in her day,  was afraid to be identified as a female for fear that she would not be taken seriously as a writer.

Quintessential Style asks the question, “Who are you today? And what do you want to accomplish tomorrow, and the next day, and the next.?” Confidence can help you get there. It’s never too late to begin.

Our special offer extends from Nov. 1 – Nov. 9th on Etsy.
