Magic Sleeves. Okay, I’m a thief. I stole this idea right off Janna’s newsletter, who took it from Susan Street’s Fiftynotfrumpy.com website. But we aren’t really robbers, are we? We are just sharers of ideas.

Have you ever had a sleeveless dress but wanted a little more arm coverage? Well now you can get it. Take a look at the way Susan has converted this lovely sleeveless LBD into a lace showstopper.

How did she do it? With a brilliant invention from a website called:

If Only I had Sleeves.com. Check it out. You’ll find every type sleeve imaginable in an assortment of colors and fabrics. Wow…I wish I’d thought of this.

Are you Overwashing your Jeans?

blue jeansLevi Strauss CEO Chip Bergh recently admitted that he was wearing a pair of jeans that was nearly a year old, and they had never been put in a washing machine. CNN’s Anderson Cooper told style expert Stacy London that he ‘rarely’ washes his jeans. And designer Tommy Hilfiger has made similar comments.

How often do you wash your jeans? When you wash denim, the cotton fibers twist and ‘draw up,’ causing weakening and shrinkage. Consequently, spot-cleaning is highly recommended, rather than machine washing.

Another alternative: FREEZE THEM. Just like freezing children’s toys kills germs, the same concept applies to jeans. (Simply place jeans in a plastic bag and freeze overnight.)

How about these instructions. stamped on the inside pocket of every pair of Tellason jeans: “We did not wash these jeans and neither should you. If you must, turn them inside out, wash, with very little soap in cold water, and hang to dry.”don't wash these jeans

I bet these guys didn’t wash their jeans every day.

To wash or not to wash?

Decide for yourself.

Savvy Scarf Display. I saw this idea at a Talbot’s store in Fort Worth. If you have an old dress form, tie a string around the waist and hang your scarves from the string. It creates the look of a stylish skirt while keeping scarves organized, wrinkle-free, and easy to find.

Enjoy your blogs so much and the sleeves, what a great idea. Will definitely have to pass that one on.
Miss you and Franie and hope all is well at the gift shop. Hope to see all of you around the end of May.

Sharon,
What a great tip about “washing your jeans too much.” I never knew that and the freezing them overnight is an idea I will try!
Thank you, you are always helpful!!
