What happens when remarkable women come together? BAM!
April 23, 2016

What happens when a bunch of fun women get together? Laughter for sure. Camaraderie, joy, humor. You betcha. I don’t even try to explain this phenomenon to my husband. Somehow I don’t think he can begin to grasp the concept of this magical, spontaneous bonding that occurs with us gals. Poor men.

Last week I met over 150 energizing ladies I never knew before. Why did I feel I’d known them all my life? Because of their blogs.

Picture it: 150 dynamic bloggers, all in mid-life, gathering for two powerful days of networking, presentations, laughter, and freebies! That’s what happened in Las Vegas last weekend–BAM  (Bloggers At Midlife Conference, 2016).BAM CONFERENCE POSTER

It’s not staying in Las Vegas today, ladies, because I want to introduce some amazing bloggers, and share their spectacular blogs. Here are just a few:

Are you looking for real fashion inspiration that you can actually wear? Entertaining tips to make your party inviting? Fresh decorating inspiration for your home? Then welcome to my creative outlet where I love to share my lifestyle tips.

(Elaine was the first person to introduce herself to me at BAM. Her style, sincerity, and graciousness shone through the moment we met.)

Kim's Crazy Life

Kim’s Crazy Life (Kim’s Crazy Life)

Armed with quick wit and sarcasm Kim tackles trying to stay fabulous with four millennials , her crazy Southern mother, and all the other chaos that midlife brings. Pull off your Spanx and grab a glass, while you take the wild ride known as Kim’s Crazy Life.

When I read Kim’s blog titled, “If It’s not One Thing, It’s My Mother,” I laughed until I cried. I fell in love with this savvy sweetheart, and I know you will, too.

Did you ever see a room in a magazine and wish you could have everything in it? Well now you can! Mithra Ballesteros is curator and collector at Finder Not Keeper.com, an online shopping site where EVERTHING you see in her one-of-a-kind design vignettes is for sale–together. She does the searching and designing and all you do is click to order.

I met Mithra literally within the last hour of BAM…thank goodness. She enthralled us all with the ‘mini-Mithra’ finger puppet she takes everywhere she goes.  We loved the idea behind Mithra’s business. She does all the finding, and we get to do all the keeping. Wow!

Elaine Ambrose

Elaine is a syndicated blogger and  award-winning author of eight books, including Menopause Sucks and Midlife Cabernet.  She is a popular motivational speaker at college commencement ceremonies, writing conferences, retreats, book clubs, and live comedy shows.

In 2014, she authored a humorous post on The Huffington Post that went viral with more than 700,000 likes. The post, titled Don’t Fart During an MRI was reprinted in several countries in various languages and continues to gain fans. The post was named as of one of the Top Ten Most-Read Posts in the Ten-Year History of The Huffington Post.

Elaine is as funny as she is warm and gracious. What an honor to meet this talented lady–full of so much grace and humor! Have you ever tried to write funny…it’s hard!

Doreen has written for Philadelphia area newspapers and magazines. As the president of Intrepid Marketing, Inc., she consults with and coaches writers/authors on all things writing, publishing, and marketing. She is an award-winning blogger, content writer, ghostwriter, speaker, and author.

Doreen is as kind and sincere as she appears. I have to admit, her presentation at BAM inspired me the most. She says about women, blogs, and life:

“It’s not about competition–it’s about connection.”

That’s right, Doreen. I think we are all in agreement–girls need to stick together.

Sorry guys.

How generous of you to highlight other people’s blogs while barely mentioning your own. And I love the wordplay for Kim’s post. Ha haah aha aaa Good one and probably oh so true! It has interesting to see how varied our takeaways were from BAM.
