Yes, I know this post comes a little late. But, I am itching to hear your ONE WORD (or phrase) for this new year. I have been intrigued by the idea of designing a year of your life around a single word or theme– instead of resolutions–since I first wrote about the concept in 2018.
How Do You Pick A Word?
It’s simple. Choose just one word you would like to keep uppermost in your mind each day that will inspire your thoughts and actions.

Your word should be personal. Even if you choose the same word as someone else, your direction and intention might be very different than theirs. And, of course, a word can have multiple meanings, depending on how you frame it.

My one word is FLEXIBILITY
Beverly,
Great word that can have so many diverse meanings. Isn’t it freeing to have a one-word motto for the year?
Thanks so much for sharing.
I can’t narrow it down to one word, but I have a short phrase that I will be working on.
“Think before Speaking”
My mouth sometimes gets me in trouble, so I need to slow down and realize that sometimes people take words the wrong way. So I’m hoping that I can do better.
Janet,
Of course, we have all been guilty of blurting out something we regret later.
Do not be too hard on yourself.
DISCRETION is a word that might sum it up.
Thank you for your word. It’s something we can ALL work on.
Mine is HEAL! AND/OR HEALTHY!
Hilde,
I will be sending up prayers for healing. And for a healthy year in 2020.
Blessings.
My word is JOY!
JOY is such a happy word!
Vicki, may you choose joy in all things. And find joy everywhere.
Thank you.
Mine is Balance.
Oh, Lita,
That is a great word. May it guide your thoughts and actions in 2020.
Thank you for sharing.
My word is “YES”.
What a GREAT word!
