NOW I’D LIKE YOUR INPUT. PLEASE, PLEASE COMMENT BELOW AND LET ME KNOW WHAT TOPICS YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT.
For example, this blog written in 2015 “Hey, Where Did My Neck Go?
Sometimes I get ideas for blogs from my own experiences. Have you ever worn something to an event and when you got home you said, “I wish I hadn’t worn that?” (We all have.) That inspired my blog: What is Wearer’s Remorse?
Sometimes I even get ideas from my husband. Like this blog from 2015:
Are Men More Beautiful Than Women?
Oftentimes I get ideas from my own lack of organization. This is a blog I wrote about the sad shape of my closet: “Imagine Your Closet–Just as it Is–At this Very Moment.”
Let’s face it, if you can’t be honest with your readers, you can’t be a blogger.
Ideas can come from anywhere. For example, when I realized I had way too many pillows, I wanted to know if other women had the same problem. So I wrote: “Why Do Women LOVE Pillows?”

You worried me a bit with the first line of your blog today, so I was relieved when you indicated you will continue it!! You blog is something I look forward to each week. I always learn something or at least get a laugh! You are a talented writer and I admire your dedication. I would suggest that you continue in the same way with tips on style, seasonal topics. Tips on using makeup and hairstyle/haircare suggestions would be helpful. I also enjoy your travel adventures and topics like closet organization.
Sherry,
Sorry for the scare…Thank you so very much for your note. Sometimes I don’t know if I’m repeating a subject too many times, e.g., makeup ideas, packing, etc. Closet organization is an ongoing battle for me. I look forward to many more blogs and thanks again for your input.
Really do enjoy your blog and the unpretentious way of writing and offering style suggestions. As we age, of course there are many physical problems that rear their head and warn us that certain styles are not possible. I’m mainly referring to arthritis, muffin tops, and height changes. Finding comfy stylish shoes are a challenge for me as are clothes that don’t make me look matronly. These are just some of the issues I’d like to see addressed and maybe you have in past posts before I subscribed. I,too, look forward to the weekly chat ..Thank you.
Catherine,
What a lovely note. Thank you for so many great ideas. My favorite thing is learning new ideas for the blog–my second favorite thing is SHARING them. Thanks so much!
Hi Sharon,
I would never be able to come up with such an interesting array of ideas like you do (and none of them has in any way been boring or irrelevant).
I love your blog as it is and like to read about whatever you write about.:)
xoxo
Oh my goodness, Simone,
I had no idea I had readers in Germany. Thank you so much for your kind words. I think woman around the world have the same questions and concerns. As we mature, our bodies, hair, skin, and outlook change. But sometimes we don’t realize how to handle all the changes. You have inspired me with your beautiful comment.
I have your book and have decided my color type is muted. Great colors are listed as orange, purple, green and teal. Imagining those colors together makes me cringe, though I know wearing them all at once is not your aim. I think elsewhere in the book orange is not thought highly of in a wardrobe. What if you were to talk about the different color types from time to time, mentioning what a good neutral might be in each case.
Mentioning neutrals reminds me, I’m building too many wardrobes around too many neutrals. It’s so hard to narrow them down. I use navy, grey, taupe, brown, black for my supposed capsule wardrobes.
Rosalyn,
I know just who to ask about your concerns–my co-author, Janna Beatty. She, too, is a muted color type and a master at putting outfits together that are perfect for her. Thanks for your suggestion…wow, readers are great!
Please also talk about combination color types such as Gentle Light Bright.
Will do, Laura.
I happen to be one!
I think you do a very exceptional job writing your weekly blogs! Keep it relevant; keep it honest (as you do!) and from the heart. Your shared knowledge is important and appreciated…your concerns are OUR concerns! I agree with the previous writer…tips on make up are always helpful…and hair too! Many women past a certain age – all seem to have the same hair style! Info from your readers regarding health and vitamin products (that work) as well as beauty products might be shared in a forum style. Active lifestyles are so very important and certainly not participated in by enough of us…maybe touch on personal experiences regarding this vital subject. Your blogs are always a good read…keep it up!
Marietta,
Thanks for your kind words about the blog. I appreciate your suggestions so much. I never thought about health and vitamin products as a subject for a blog. And, yes, a forum style is a great idea. Thank you!
I’d love to see more ideas about how we over 70 women can look youthful and attractive, without looking silly.
Edith,
What a great subject. I’d love to take this on. Thank you so much for the input!
Love your blog!! Suggestions for content . . hmm. . . . well, Halloween is coming up soon, so how about “Is a Halloween costume lurking in your closet?”
Great idea, Betty.
I’m going to work on this one. Thanks for your inspiration!

Wow, Janet.
Maybe you should be writing a blog. GREAT ideas. Thank you so much for your comments and interest. I better get going on this!
Sweet Sharon,
I always enjoy your talented writing and if Mark is nearby, he gets to hear it too! I apologize for not commenting very often but I agree with all the previous comments about how wonderful you and your posts are, and I am amazed at your variety of topics! I have writer’s block coming up with a simple comment, much less over 200+ weekly articles with great pictures too! Keep ’em coming! Love you friend!❤️
Beth,
Just let me know when you have a question. I do love hearing from my readers. It makes me feel less lonely!!
Hey friend, sometimes we have to wear something not of our choosing – for example, a particular shirt when we are volunteering. How can it be dressed up or made at least a little more exciting each week? I’ve seen you do it and I was amazed…
Laura,
A button-down shirt is easier to dress up than a t-shirt, but there are ways. Let me get back to you. Thanks for writing.
Hello Sharon,
How about some ideas on how to dress to look taller or dress to look thinner.
Thank you for your informative blogs!
Will do, Irene. Something we ALL want to know more about.
