I recently heard a band play a song that the lead singer had just written, and he admitted that he was “inspired by the times.” I began to ask myself, “How have I been inspired by these times?” now that we’ve been dealing with a pandemic of universal proportions for almost two-thirds of our 2020 year.
During these life-altering months, how have your circumstances changed? How have you handled all the uncertainty?
How have you been inspired by the times?
Well, we’ve all certainly been learning nifty things
But, what have you learned about YOURSELF?
- Are you more patient than you thought? Less patient?
- Do you tend to complain rather than act? Or act rather than complain?
- How do you handle stress and uncertainty? (In healthy ways or more often unhealthy ways?)
- Have your priorities changed? How so?
- Have some things become less important to you than they
were b efore? - Have you become more creative?
- Have you used your gifts or special talents to help others?
And in the midst of a paralyzing quarantine, did you take some unprecedented action–do something so drastically different–it could only have been “inspired by these unique times?”
We all have talents, we all have inspirations, we all have choices to make. How will you spend the rest of your 2020? Will you be inspired to create
Only you can decide.

Great Blog, as Always Sharon…something to ponder ! I have found my Spiritual Life has grown SO much deeper & stronger – more time to learn & reflect! It feels Good!💜✝️💜
Carla,
I can’t think of anything better than deepening our spiritual lives during these free moments. A blessing for the present and one that will equip us for the future. Thank you for sharing.
This is a wonderful blog, Sharon! I too believe my spiritual life has changed and more concretely, I have done a couple of things (kind of crazy) to help others during this time. Baking chocolate chip cookies and delivering them at 2:30 in the morning to a teacher friend to take to others teachers the first day of school!! It’s been a tradition I’ve done for the past 30+ years, but couldn’t take this year myself.
Diane,
I believe this phrase: “love is action.” You didn’t just say the word, you did the work to prove it.
(I am tearing up now to think about much the kind actions of others have meant to me during this time.)
Sorry to be so sappy.
Thank you for reminding us.
My relationship with my husband of almost 50 years has gotten stronger. We have fun together and the quarantine has made it even better! I can’t imagine going through this without him ❤️
Oh, Beverly,
What a sweet reward for all your diligent quarantining! Your reply made me smile and tear up at the same time. Thank you for sharing. And so many congratulations on 50 years!
