Gretchen Ruben–one of my favorite authors–says, “I love whimsy, and I’m a big believer in the power of concrete actions to shape our emotions and thoughts.”
It seems we can all use a bit of fanciful tidings right now to uplift and pull us through the last leg of a truly ‘annus horribilis‘ (horrible year).
I needed a bit of a pick-me-up, so I headed to the home of my friend, Susan, where I knew I could find some holiday cheer. She has not forgotten the power of whimsy, even in these troubled times.
She decorates with such delight and care, I thought I’d share her glad tidings with you.
Susan pulls out whimsical Santas she has collected over the years.
Thank you, Susan for sharing your home with us. It inspires and delights–even if we are the only ones who will see it.

Janet,
Susan says the color palette she chose was white, gold, and taupe. Perfect for her light-filled, open concept home.
