What to do With Your Scarf, When It’s Too Damn Hot to Wear a Scarf

Over the past 12 years, I have gotten inspiration for blogs from everywhere and everyone. Yesterday, I was at a gift shop in Round Rock, Texas, and lovely manager Cheryl showed me a new trend I simply had to share. I’m not sure it has a name, but it certainly is original. Instead of wearing a scarf at her neck, Cheryl demonstrated using a scarf this way:

Accessorize at your waste!

It’s too darn hot to wear a scarf around your neck in Texas. Maybe in December. So this is what a gal can do with all those beauties hanging in her closet?

Cheryl was only demonstrating how to tie this red bandana-print scarf. (This might not be the print you’d put with the outfit she’s wearing.)

1. First she folded the scarf in half in a triangle, then folded the point end to the straight side and folded once more to make a narrow band.
2. Then, she pulled the narrowed scarf through two of her belt loops and tied it.
3. You can make a bow or leave the edges flowing (symmetrical or asymmetrical).

So Simple! So adorable. Even for us more mature gals!

You can try the technique shown above with any trousers, jeans, or skirt–even if it doesn’t have belt loops. And, any size scarf and any material will work.
