I’m going to the bathroom this week. No, I don’t mean going, I mean heading to my bathroom to organize my counter once and for all. Using an amazing contraption I found at the grocery store.
Last week’s blog divulged the preposterous contents of my purse. This week, I move to the bathroom where I could also use a bit of help with organization.
Some of you may remember back in
Well, here it is 2020, and my side of the bathroom counter looks pretty much the same. But I’ve decided to clean up my “bathroom act.” I’ll surprise Mr. Style with an organizational tool I bought for $6.
What it is…
Not a new idea, it’s a small clear, acrylic caddy (aka, Multi-Use Organizer).
Why Use It?
I have observed that I use the same five or six cosmetics pretty much every day, even though my drawers are packed with additional brushes, eyeshadows,
So, why should I search for my basic foundation, mascara, eyebrow pencil, blush, and lipstick each morning? And why should they all be laid out cluttering up my counter?
It seems if I drop the items back in my drawer, I still end up “scratching around” for the same items every day.
I have a lot of other stuff in my drawers, so why push these back into the drawer, and then have to fish them out all over again tomorrow?
So I put items I use every day in my new makeup caddy.
And this is what I do with the caddy AFTER I put on my makeup:
I pick it up and put it UNDER my sink.
That way, it is off my counter and out of sight until tomorrow when I will use the same items all over again. (It makes it easier to clean the bathroom, too.)
And here’s how the conversation went when Mr. Style saw my cosmetic caddy for the first time:
Mr. Style: “Did you get a new organizer?”
Me: “Yes, I did. And after I use my stuff, I stick it all back in the organizer and put it under the sink.”
Mr. Style: “Sweet!”
He’s a man of few words, but I think he liked it.

Another great organizing tip! Thank you!
And husbands love it, too!
Great tip Sharon. I have a short organizer that I use in my top drawer. It holds all of my daily makeup. I put all of my back up cosmetics in another drawer. I love trying new items so there are always extra items. About once a year I try to go through and purge old items or things I don’t use anymore. I’m sure Mr Style is tickled to see your organized, clean sink! It’s always refreshing to live in a clutter-free zone!
Janet,
Somehow I knew this was not going to be an original idea. Sounds like you already had a personal organizational system worked out!
But, I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one with “extra” items I don’t use every day. I should probably go purge all my old/expired products. Thanks for the reminder.
Oh! You have to put it away! Ah, so that is the secret!
